As a member of the Brazil Rock 33 34 Lobster Association you will be continually updated of the happenings in Lobster Fishing Area 33 and 34, be able to contribute to government and policy decisions in a strong untied voice. Receive timely notifications of issues that affect your fishing enterprise.
The Brazil Rock 33 34 Lobster Association is the largest single species association in Canada. Incorporated in August of 2017, with the overall objectives to unite fisherman from Lobster Fishing Areas 33 & LFA 34; to be represented as one voice and to work together to achieve the long-term sustainability of the lobster fishery.
The Brazil Rock 33 34 Lobster Association Mission Statement:
We support the owner operator
We support a prosperous and sustainable lobster fishery for the present and the future
We will cooperate with like-minded organizations in pursuit of common objectives
We will be run by lobster fishermen/women and supported by lobster fishermen / women.
The Brazil Rock 33 34 Lobster Association is governed by a Board of Directors which is comprised of lobster license holders who own and operate their own fishing enterprises throughout LFA’s 33 and 34.
The Brazil Rock 33 34 Lobster Association has participated in the creation of the Southwest Lobster Science Society (SWLSS), an industry-led approach for by-catch data verification, involved in every step of determining where Marine Protected Areas (MPA’s) would be to benefit all in the future.
Our goals are to work together with Government officials and alike minded associations to secure the future of the lobster fishery.
Membership is valid for one year – (August 1 – July 31)
